David Daniels
David Daniels, M.D., Stanford University Clinical Professor Department of Psychiatry:
Dale Rhodes, with his professional backgrounds in nonprofit management and spiritual direction, brings maturity and a freshness to teaching the Enneagram.  He offers mentoring, spiritual direction, panel interview workshops and retreats for a wide variety of students.  Participants are  delighted and enriched by the perspectives that Dale brings to the potential for positive change in relationships, work and spirituality.  I am pleased to support this highly qualified and caring Enneagram Teacher in the Narrative Tradition.  -- David Daniels, M.D., coauthor of  The Essential Enneagram

What people say of learning the Enneagram with Dale:

Thanks for the wonderful training you offered our Campus Rec staff at Portland State.  I was very struck by your ability to link our personality types to our working environment and how my staff reacted so postiviely to something with real substance.  While there is value in some of the "hot" leadership theories, the timeliness and the substance of the Enneagram really impacted my staff.  We will definitely be in touch as our staff grows and we look to build a strong, unified, caring, and compassionate team.   Thanks again!
-- Alex Accetta, Director of Campus Recreation at Portland State University

Dale did a wonderful job of leading a day and a half workshop for my team of managers.  He brought the Enneagram to life by modeling its lessons in their teaching style.  By the end of the workshop, my team had a good feel for how to use the Enneagram to understand their own personality styles and to interact more effectively with their peers and subordinates.

Andrew Ginsberg, Oregon DEQ Air Quality Administrator

Though it has been months since you spent half a day with us at the beginning of our academic year back on that hot day in August, the effects of your time with us have persisted.  Your work with us provided a great start that helped us have our most productive and cohesive year yet.  Although our specific references to the Enneagram are not frequent, the self-appraisal process and related discussions led to more open communication and collegial relations for us; that certainly was an outcome that I was hoping for and so I feel the process was successful...  The delay does give me a better perspective on the effects of your workshop with us and allows me to comment on the more lasting effects of the work.

Dale did a great job of introducing the Enneagram to staff, board members and consumers at disAbility Resources.  The workshop encouraged people with disabilities to reflect on some of the patterns in our lives, understanding what motivates us and what areas we may want to change.  In addition, it gave a better understanding of basic personality types as we advocate for individual needs as well as for systematic change.
-- Jim Baker, Executive Director, disAbility Resources of Southwest Washington

Dale Rhodes facilitated one of our weekend retreats last year for 70 Jesuit volunteers and staff.  Dale worked thoughtfully and cooperatively with staff in preparing the retreat to meet the needs of the volunteers. Dale's wonderful abilities as a presenter and facilitator enabled the volunteers to grasp an overview of the Enneagram and then carefully explore each Enneagram type, identifying their own type and considering how different types impact and are impacted by their community members. I highly recommend Dale for individual and group work as he is clear, insightful, engaging, and his passion for the Enneagram and its helpfulness in our lives is infectious.
-- Jeanne Haster, Executive Director, Jesuit Volunteer Corps: Northwest

Dale is such a wonderful teacher and facilitator.  All feedback has been positive.  Even the skeptics thought the time was well spent and meaningful.  We really appreciated how well he listened to each of us and helped us in the process of discovering our type without putting us in a box or judging.  We also felt that the narrative tradition provided an opportunity for us to really listen to each other in a deeper way than we’ve experienced with other tools such as the MBTI.   We could not have been more satisfied.
--  Beth Towle, Director, Admissions and Communications, Catlin Gabel School, Portland Oregon

Consider this a note of sincere appreciation for your highly interactive presentation and profile session.  We discovered our Enneagram Type and with your case histories and encouragement, identified paths for change.  Thanks to your dynamic style, we benefited in depth.  In discovery,
--  Jim Shorr, Adult Programs Committee, First Unitarian Church of Portland

Last year was terrific!  I have 180 hours of course work beyond my MA degree — and I never looked forward to coming to class with as much enthusiasm previously or since.
-- Kent Layden, Second Wind Consulting

Everybody in our company loved the workshop. And I do mean everybody.  It made it much easier to communicate amongst ourselves by appreciating how others communicate.  We all left the workshop with newfound respect of each other, and with a deeper understanding of each other's strengths and weaknesses. We just like each other more, and in a small business, that's priceless.
--- Skip Van Meter, Working Class Acupuncture

Thank you for your presentation to Westminster's retreat about the enneagram.  I found the information interesting and helpful.  I especially was drawn to the notion that our virtues and our vices are connected, and that our strengths and weaknesses may be somehting like two sides of a single coin.  I have not been a big fan of Myers Briggs, though I think it certainly has its place.  I found the spiritual resources of this richer.  Thanks for introducing me to this ancient idea.   I also got good feedback from others who attended.   And your manner and style made you easy to listen to and enjoyable.
---  Rev. David Hutchinson, Associate Pastor, Westminster Presbyterian Church in Portland

The Enneagram gives me a great deal of insight into myself and into how other people think and move through the world. It is invaluable to me, not just as a tool for personal growth, but as a way of spiritual depth and transformation. Dale is a gifted teacher and facilitator who has great passion for the Enneagram as a tool for such growth. He has led an introductory class in my congregation, and I already see changes in how we create community together. Folks want him back to go deeper!

Dale Rhodes brings his professional expertise in psychology and spiritual direction as he explores and deepens clients' awareness of the spiritual dimension of healing using the Enneagram as a teaching tool. He offers hope for potential change, for those struggling with addiction, as clients are introduced to a deeper understanding of their “type”.
